Silver, Gold or Platinum - Choosing the Right HBOT Chamber For You
One of the more common questions I get asked at BE SUPERHUMAN isn’t whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy is worth trying.
Most people who’ve made it as far as booking a consultation are already fairly convinced of that.
The actual question is which chamber to start with, and it’s a fair one, since Silver, Gold and Platinum aren’t just different price points, they genuinely offer different experiences suited to different goals.
Here’s a proper, honest breakdown to help you figure out where to start.
The Basic Idea Behind All Three
Before getting into the differences, it’s worth a quick reminder of what all three chambers are actually doing.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy means sitting or lying in a pressurised environment while breathing purified oxygen.
The increased pressure allows more oxygen to dissolve into your blood plasma than normal breathing at everyday atmospheric pressure would allow, which is thought to support your body’s natural recovery processes.
The three tiers we offer differ mainly in how much pressure is used, the type of chamber, and the overall experience, not in the basic principle behind them.
Silver Tank
The Silver HBOT Tank is a soft-shell chamber running at a gentle 1.3 ATA, with sessions lasting around 60 minutes. It’s the most comfortable, accessible entry point we offer, and it tends to be exactly where we recommend starting if you’ve never tried HBOT before and aren’t sure what to expect.
It suits people looking for general, everyday recovery support rather than anything particularly intensive, think regular desk-bound fatigue, general wellbeing, or simply wanting to build a consistent, low-pressure habit into your week without diving straight into a firmer, more intense session.
Gold Tank
The Gold HBOT Tank is a firmer, hard-shell chamber running at 1.5 ATA, with sessions typically lasting 60 to 90 minutes. This tends to be the option our more seriously active clients favour, people training regularly, managing a heavier exercise load, or wanting a stronger session than the Silver Tank offers without going all the way to our most intensive option.
If you’ve already tried the Silver Tank a few times and feel ready for something with a bit more depth, or you’re coming from a background of regular training and want recovery support that matches that intensity, Gold tends to be the natural next step.
Platinum Deluxe Tank
The Platinum Deluxe HBOT Tank is our most advanced option, offering flexible pressure settings between 1.5 and 2.0 ATA in a spacious hard-shell chamber, with a built-in screen if you’d rather watch something than simply rest. Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes.
This suits people wanting the most thorough session available, whether that’s because you’re managing a particularly demanding training block, recovering from an intense period generally, or you simply want the highest level of oxygen support we offer. It’s also a genuinely comfortable option for anyone who finds a full hour of enforced stillness easier with something to watch.
A Simple Way to Think About It
If you’re new to HBOT entirely, Silver is almost always the sensible starting point. It lets you get a feel for the experience without committing to a longer or more intense session straight away.
If you’re already reasonably active and recovering from regular training, Gold tends to suit that level of demand better, offering a firmer session without being the most intensive option available.
If you’re dealing with a particularly heavy training load, a demanding period generally, or you simply want the most complete experience we offer, Platinum is built for that.
None of these are fixed once you choose one. Plenty of clients move between tiers depending on how a particular week or month is going, using Silver during a lighter patch and stepping up to Gold or Platinum when they’re pushing harder or recovering from something more demanding.
Worth Talking Through Before You Book
Choosing between three genuinely different chambers isn’t something you need to work out alone.
If you’re not sure which one fits where you’re starting from, that’s exactly the kind of thing worth mentioning during your consultation, we’ll talk through your goals, your current routine, and point you toward whichever tier actually makes sense, rather than leaving you to guess.
Frequently Asked Questions
The main differences are pressure level and chamber type. Silver runs at a gentle 1.3 ATA in a soft-shell chamber, Gold runs firmer at 1.5 ATA in a hard-shell chamber, and Platinum offers flexible pressure up to 2.0 ATA in our most advanced hard-shell chamber.
The Silver Tank is generally the recommended starting point for anyone new to HBOT, offering a gentle, accessible introduction before considering a firmer session.
Not necessarily. The right chamber depends on your goals and how your body responds, not simply choosing the highest pressure available. Many people find a gentler chamber suits their regular routine better than a more intensive one.
Yes, many clients move between tiers depending on their current training load or recovery needs, using a gentler chamber during lighter periods and a firmer one when recovering from something more demanding.
Silver Tank sessions typically last around 60 minutes, while Gold and Platinum sessions generally run between 60 and 90 minutes.
For the Silver Tank, you may be able to keep some personal items with you, but for the Gold and Platinum hard-shell chambers, safety regulations require phones and battery-powered devices to be left outside during the session.
